Mulligans Flat Farm Logo

Bum Nuts, Canberra’s much loved eggs has found a new home at Mulligans Flat Farm. Under our stewardship, we've proudly relocated the business to our farm, continuing the legacy and values that Bum Nuts has always stood for - to ensure the end result continues to be... “Bloody good eggs from Pasture Raised happy chooks”

At Mulligans Flat Farm, we also adhere to regenerative principles, utilising Isa Brown hens to fertilise the pasture naturally. Custom-built housing, designed with mesh or no floors, ensures that our chooks continue to play a vital role in enriching the land, even in their sleep.

Through rotational grazing with mobile housing, we foster land regeneration and enhance soil vitality, resulting in happier, healthier animals. It's this holistic approach that imparts a unique deliciousness and nutritional value to our eggs.

Our commitment to true free-range living means our chickens roam open pastures, foraging for the goodness nature provides. With access to pasture every day in paddocks they've fertilised, there's simply no need for harmful chemicals. We believe in sustainable, wholesome practices, carrying forward the vision that Bum Nuts began in 2013, now happy here at Mulligans Flat Farm.

  • Our chickens are true “open” free range chickens. They eat a variety of grains and roam freely duringthe day. This ensures a varied and natural diet. Resulting in healthy chooks and bloody good eggs.

  • Our chickens are raised using Regenerative Farming principles and have access to pasture all day, everyday and are constantly rotated through paddocks. Mobile housing and using the chooks as our fertilisers means there is no need for nasty chemicals. This in turn produces nutrient dense pasture and what makes our eggs so delicious and nutritious.

  • ...or Omelette or Pavlova. Some people say they can’t tell the difference between free range and caged eggs. They’ve been buying the wrong eggs! Try our“Bloody good eggs from Pasture Raised happy chooks”.

  • Our chooks get a natural and varied diet. Freely grazing our paddocks. Getting minerals and vitamins from native plants, grubs and insects. A healthy bird means a great egg.

  • The welfare of all our animals is our primary concern and a healthy and natural life means a better product. It costs us more to do it the ethical way but we believe it’s worth it.

  • A Model Code of Practice states free range birds must kept at 1,500 per hectare. Some farms run at 40,000 per hectare and claim to be “free range”. We supply a number of retail outlets and food venues in the Gunning / Canberra region.

  • Regenerative farming is about maintaining and enhancing the ecological harmony of our property. Soil fertility, plant growth, and animal welfare are ecologically interrelated.
